Better identity in. Better access decisions out.
A NAC can retrieve WireTrace asset identity, classification and risk through the REST API to enrich its own policy decisions. Your NAC keeps doing the enforcement; WireTrace tells it what each device actually is.
What the NAC gets
The device, not just the MAC.
Before any automated action, WireTrace checks the target is identified well enough, and recently enough, to act on safely. The same check is available to the systems that consume WireTrace data.
- Device type, role and domain, with confidence
- Vendor, model and firmware where the evidence supports it
- Asset Risk Score and its factors
- Whether the identity is strong and recent enough to act on
Use case
Enrich NAC policy with evidence-based identity.
Unknown or misclassified devices are a common NAC blind spot. WireTrace identity comes from what the device says on the wire, which helps NAC policies treat devices by what they are.
Using a specific NAC? Ask us.
A WireTrace evaluation runs on a mirror port, on your infrastructure, and shows your own devices, communications and risks.
